Data set to reproduce Figure 4 in Contreras (2002)[1] . The initial geometries
of the units and faults were obtained from:
Woodward, N.B., Boyer, S.E., and Suppe, J., 1985. An outline of balanced
cross-sections, 2nd edition. University of Tennessee, Department of Geological
Sciences, Studies in Geology 11, 2nd edn, 170 p.

Here, it is assumed that FBF programs are run in a UNIX environment. When run in
DOS and MS Windows environments, file names must follow the 8.3 naming scheme
and must be changed accordingly.

To generate the initial state type the commands:

   fbfmesh conas.par
   fbfmesh knox.par
   fbfmesh miss.par
   fbfmesh omu.par
   fbfmesh penn.par
   fbfmesh rome.par
   fbfmesh sil.par

To carry out the simulation of the fault-related folding type the commands:

   fbfold pinemt.fault
   fbfold bales1.fault
   fbfold bales2.fault

To obtain a graph of the deformed state type the following (in a single line,
without returns):

   fbfplot -m conas-4.msh knox-4.msh miss-4.msh omu-4.msh sil-4.msh
   miss-4.msh penn-4.msh -f oldfaults3.dat -o powell.plt

   gnuplot powell.plt
